CARNEGIE HALL BOUND!!
JUNE 26-28, 2020

The Junior and Senior Honors Choirs have been invited to be featured performers at Choirs of America (COA) Nationals for Top Choirs in Carnegie Hall in New York on Saturday, June 27, 2020.

The choirs will leave York on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 7 a.m. and return to York on Sunday, June 28 at approximately 10 p.m.

On Friday, June 26, the choirs will perform at Queens College for nationally known choral directors and for other choirs participating in the festival. Our choirs will also attend concerts by other participating choirs and receive adjudications and ratings as well as a one-hour clinic with some of our nation's leading choral directors.

On Saturday, June 27, our choirs will have several rehearsals in various NYC locations. There will be three mass choirs that will rehearse and then perform during the concert that evening.

The concert in Carnegie Hall will begin at approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. Each of our Honors Choirs will be part of a larger mass choir that will sing three selections during the concert.  Our choirs will also have 30 minutes of stage time dedicated just to York County Senior and Junior Honors Choirs. All in all, our singers will be on stage for approximately one hour during the two and a half hour concert.

On Sunday, June 28, our singers will have an opportunity to do some sightseeing in New York, followed by a group dinner on the way home.

Parents and family will be responsible for making their own arrangements to travel to NY for the concert. Tickets will be available to you at a projected cost of $45 each.

The projected cost per singer is $680. Following successful auditions in September (SR Choir) and November (JR Choir), an $80 down payment will reserve your spot for the trip.

It is our hope that every member of next year's Honors Choirs will be able to experience the joy of singing in Carnegie Hall!

More detailed information is coming next fall!
