The York County Honors Choirs has been providing choral education and performance opportunities to young people throughout York County for 25 years.

With Elementary, Junior, and Senior Honors Choirs, exceptional performers from grades 5 through 12 have an opportunity to learn and grow as performers and leaders in their community, under the guidance of esteemed choral directors.

The EC aims to bring together 5th and 6th grade students for vocal education and performance. The goal is to foster student interest in music and performance, and introduce them to higher-level opportunities within the YCHC

The tradition of excellence and leadership continues. Future plans include many more opportunities for past members of the Honors Choirs to reunite and extend the legacy of beautiful singing that they helped to create.

Accepting Interest Forms Now for 2024-25

Registration will Open in May
Registration packets, including the season’s tentative schedule and registration instructions, are available each May and can be found through one’s school district choral director, private voice studio, church choir director, or by contacting the Honors Choir directors.

The Junior & Senior Registration form will be accepted again in May and a registration fee of $25 is due to continue with the audition process.

AUDITION PREPARATION

A kickoff meeting is held in August. At that time, singers will receive audition music and rehearsal tracks at this meeting.

Audition for YCHC
Auditions take place approximately two weeks later.

Get singing!
The season officially begins in September for the Senior Honors Choir and October for the Junior Honors Choir.

ABOUT THE SCHEDULE

The schedule varies depending on whether you’re a member of the Junior or Senior Honors Choir, but generally, the schedule involves Sunday afternoon rehearsals in the fall and January and February in preparation for approximately five concerts scheduled from February to the beginning of June.
