The York County Honors Choirs organization is a special project of the Cultural Alliance of York County, a 501(c)(3) entity. As a very small non-profit, we are governed by a volunteer Advisory Board, and we look to the community for our support through donations from individuals and corporations.
Welcome to the website of the York County, Pennsylvania, Junior and Senior Honors Choirs. We are pleased to be celebrating the 13th season of the Junior Honors Choir, and the 17th season of the Senior Honors Choir.
Happy New Year and Welcome to our Spring Season!
As I write this the snow is falling, but we know that spring is just around the corner and our “regular” concert season is about to begin. Both choirs have been rehearsing each Sunday in January, and they are putting the final touches on this season’s repertoire. Beginning “quietly” with two Sunday morning services on February 8, both choirs will open officially on the weekend of February 14 and 15. Another dozen or so concerts are scheduled throughout the rest of the spring, and we have fun trips on the docket, too, with the Juniors singing in Williamsburg, and the Seniors in New York City. The Concorde Vocal Ensemble is privileged to again perform with the Maryland’s Deer Creek Chorale, this time singing “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass” on May 3 in Harford County, Maryland. As usual we have lots going on…and before you know it the season will be over! Mark your calendars for our combined Season Finale concert at the Pullo Center on May 31.
Details about all of these events can be found elsewhere on the website as well as on our Facebook page. We invite you to check back often for the latest updates.
As always, thank you for your generous and enthusiastic support. We’re glad that you keep us singing!
This season's featured supporters are Beth and Dave Inkrote. Beth has been the Administrative Assistant for the Honors Choirs for the past three years. She has pushed us to new levels with her interest in using technology to do our work more efficiently, and she handles the many office tasks with good spirit and extraordinary competence. Her husband Dave is available to help whenever needed, and he has served by working in the ticket booth at our major concerts over the past few years. Beth and Dave are the parents to two Honors Choirs alumni, Sam and Alicia. We thank them both sincerely for their generosity to our organization.
