April 2

Dear Senior Honors Choir,

The past few weeks away from rehearsal has been a time of reflection for me. During my Spring Break I had the opportunity to travel to Iceland, and I came back with a new sense of inspiration and renewal. I ask that as we prepare for our concert this week, we take a second to remember our why… why did you choose to come together with a group of people and sing? Take a look at the picture below and look at how everything comes together, from the light to the dark clouds, the sea, the sun, and the few birds you can see on the sky.

This week we will be performing at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for our first Spring Concert. Although not everyone will be there, we will do our best! We will come together like all of the elements from the picture above to create some beautiful music. Below are some details about this weekend.

April 7th Concert
Call time for Sunday is 1:15pm. The church will be open starting at 1:00pm, and I ask that we are inside and ready to go by 1:15pm. If you bring a bag, we will be able to put our belongings in the choir room and lock them during the concert. The concert program will be:

-We Are the Music Makers
-There is Sweet Music Here
-We Remember Them
-Lacrimosa
-In Remembrance
-What A Wonderful World
-And I Can Sing*
-As Long As I’m Singing
-Why We Sing

*Sopranos and Altos have rehearsed this with Ms. Rachel before. We will go through it during our call time and see if we are ready to perform it. We will leave Desafinado for next week’s concert at Messiah University.

Also, rehearsal tracks for Lacrimosa are now up and running. You can find them on the tracks page of the website! Tenors and Basses, I am still uploading yours, they will be up by the end of today!

See you on Sunday!!

Sincerely,
Carlos Casilla
